Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a pair of Steiner Radiator Gloves/Mittens, please read these instructions in full before using to ensure safe handling. The anatomical internal heating system uses a soft non-woven, environmentally friendly fabric that covers the whole of the palm and fingers. Once the batteries are charged, simply plug them in, turn them on and start to feel the warmth.
Setting | Heat Output | Duration
Red Flicker 100% warm up | 5min
Red | 75% | 150°F / 65.6°C | 4h |
White | 50% | 125°F / 51.7°C | 6h |
Blue | 30% | 110°F / 43.3°C | 8.5h |
fig 1.0
The following table indicates the average temperature and duration for each setting:Please note that the temperatures/duration in fig 1.0 is a guideline as it will depend on the outside temperature and age/use of battery.
Quick step-by-step Guide
1. Charge batteries with the USB charger and 3 pin plug adapter provided. This will ensure correct output and optimum charging. This will take around 6hrs to be fully charged.
2. Once the USB charger has a green light remove the batteries from the charger by holding the cable head and not the wire.
3. Carefully attach the batteries to the plug inside the pouch by holding the head of the jack. (See fig 1.1) Do not excessively pull the wires as this could cause the elements to fail.
4. Rotate the batteries to fit sideways into the pouch and secure with hook and loop tab.
5. Press and hold the power button. It will flash as it warms up (approx 5 mins) and will go to the coolest setting automatically.
6. After the flashing stops, select the setting you would like; Red, White or Blue.
7. Once the batteries have been depleted, repeat the process. After usage, please store in the silver resealable bags provided in a cool, dark place. To ensure longer battery life the batteries must be charged every 6 months.
8. The wiring system is relatively delicate, try to keep the gloves/mittens flat when not in use.

Charging the Xtrapower© battery pack
• Only use the supplied USB charger and plug adapter, in case of loss, replacements can bepurchased.
• The USB charger is intended for indoor use only. • Do not charge any other battery with this charger.
• The battery pack must be charged before use.
• Ensure all the contacts are clean and dry before charging.
• For fastest charging connect the USB charger to a wall adaptor with an output of 5V 2000mA.
• IMPORTANT: Remove the batteries from the glove /mitten by holding the black head of the cable, ie do NOT hold only the wires (see fig 1.1)
• Plug the USB charger leads into the batteries and connect to the power adaptor.
• Do not force the USB into anything other than a USB port.
• The LED light should turn red, then may flash red 5 mins before fully charged. Disengage charger and battery only when LED light is green.
• If using a wall socket charging time is approximately 6 hours, power will automatically stop once fully charged.
• You can use a computer USB port for charging but
charge time will take longer.
• We recommend charging both batteries at the same time but they can be charged individually.
• Re-attach battery to the heating element by holding the black head of the cable and not the wires (Pulling the wires may cause the elements to fail).
• Insert battery pack into inner pocket sideways and
make sure the pocket can close to stop the battery falling out.
• The batteries are rechargeable for over 500 times under proper use. The capacity will gradually reduce over time. Battery life is estimated to be 70% after 500 times.
Using the heating system
• Ensure gloves/mittens and hands are dry before use. The optimum heat can only be reached when the glove/mitten is dry.
• To turn ON press and hold the power button and it will light up red and flash for a few minutes whilst warming up.
• There are 3 settings (see fig 1.0):
Red light is high heat (65.6°C, 150°F)
White light is medium heat (51.7°C, 125°F)
Blue light is low heat (43.3°C, 110°F)
• To change the settings press the power button and the light will change to the relevant heat.
• Use Red light setting to initially warm the glove then use White or Blue setting to maintain a comfortable temperature.
• Do not use the highest setting constantly as it
may increase the risk of burning.
• Press and hold the power button to turn off.
• Either glove/mitten can be heated independently to suit users needs.
• The length of time the battery will last after being fully charged will depend on the heating level chosen, the temperature and the age of the battery.

• Battery packs should be unplugged and removed from glove/mitten after use to conserve the full charging capacity.
• If a short circuit occurs the battery pack will turn off, remove from the glove/mitten and recharge.
• The battery pack is protected from overcharging and exhaustive discharge.
• Do not wrap the wires around the charger.
Maintenance and Storage
• Remove the battery packs from the gloves/mittens before cleaning.
• When cleaning the glove/mitten use a damp cloth (NOT WET), do not tumble dry or use bleach.
• Ensure the product is clean & dry before storage. • Occasionally the leather may need a refresh of the external waterproofing. We recommend using 3M Scotchgard™ or similar.
• To ensure the long life of your batteries, we recommend storing the batteries in a cool, dry room at temperatures ranging from 5°C to 20°C (41°F - 68°F), in a semi charged state. When storing ensure they are disconnected from the glove/mitten and charger and store accordingly.
• For long term storage, the batteries must be discharged and fully recharged every 6 months to ensure the maximum battery power lasts for many years.
